The Role
The role is perfect for an experienced Front End Developer looking to work in a forward thinking, fast moving digital agency.
You will be a lover of prim and proper front end code and can develop either from scratch or by working with designs produced by digital designers.
You will have vast experience of grid systems and frameworks, and no doubt have opinions on their usefulness. Progressive enhancement and responsive design are your two best friends!
You will be working closely with a wider team of experienced technical developers, user experience specialists, consultants and project managers for clients such as: Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, RBS, NHS, Glasgow Life and The Scottish Government. The work is varied, interesting and always challenging.
You will have a strong interest in both design and user experience and will be a Front End Developer who has had experience of designing for the web and who enjoys taking projects through to completion.
Required Skills:
- Creating semantic, standards-compliant XHTML/HTML including HTML5
- CSS3+
- JavaScript/jQuery
- Front end performance optimisation
- Cross-browser compatibility
- WCAG 2.0 AA
- Proficient in working with CMS solutions including Umbraco
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, MS Visual Studio
Would be an advantage:
- Multivariate and A/B Testing experience
- Mad passionate about improving conversion
- An understanding of the importance of SEO
- Experience of mobile development
Soft Skills:
- A belief in user centred design
- A good eye for design and close attention to detail
- Solving problems efficiently and effectively
- Can accurately estimate time requirements
- Highly organised and good at prioritising
- Experience of working closely with designers and programmers
- Enjoy experimenting with new tools that could help you in your role
